REFLECTIONS OF LITTLE RED DOT
2024
Augemented reality experience, film archival material, AI generated images
Runtime: 20 - 25 minutes
Recording personal stories from Singaporeans young and old alike, this project centers on collective memory, the effects of rapid urban development on individuals, and agency. The video orginally filmed in 2015 was later reimagined into an interactive, walkable documentary to explore the idea of one’s agency to tell and piece together a narrative. It explores new approaches to ethics of documentary filmmaking, where the project serves as an archive of curated moments and stories.
Reflections of Little Red Dot is a mixed reality experience that animates the artist's personal archive of recordings from Singaporeans in 2015, the year of their nation’s 50th birthday. Guiding us to walk through atmospheres of Singapore, where we hear personal stories amidst rapid development and erasure of historical and personal sites. AI projections connect past and future landscapes, allowing us to shape our narratives.
